At first when I started blogging then it was quite laborious to develop my theme.Because Every time when changing the css codes I had to upload it to my web server and see the result.It was quite time consuming process as my internet connection was not so fast. Then I started to develop my theme installing WordPress in Wamp Server ( also read 3 Important tips to chose a blog name). Wamp Server is a very useful local server desktop client especially for the blogger.
What you hav eto download first?
- At first download Wamp server from the official website.
- Download the latest version of WordPress from the official website.
Install wamp server in your PC.It is recommended that you should install wamp server in your root drive.
After wamp server installation double click on the desktop icon.Then the wamp server icon will be shown in the System tray.
Now click on the icon in the System tray and then click on “Start All Services”
Now your wamp server is active.
Click on the icon in the system tray and then “phpMyAdmin”.A window will be opened in your default browser.See at the address bar-there should be ‘”http://localhost/phpmyadmin”.Give any name of the database in the box labeled “Create database” and click the create button.Now your database has been created successfully.
Here I have created the data base named “sample” for an example.
Now you have to upload the database in SQLiteManager which you have just created.Here it is “sample”
Click on SQLiteManager from the system tray icon.A page will be opened in your browser.
In the browser page put the name of database(sample here).Now hit the “Browse button and select the database after navigating the location.The path is such as “C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.0.51b\data\sample\db.opt”.Now check the “Upload Database” box and then “save”.After this process you should see the name of your database in the left side like this:
Now you are ready to install wordpress in your Local Server.
At first create a folder in C:\wamp\www \ and give any name of the folder as you like. For example I’m using the name “sample”.It is not necessary to be the same name with the database name.You can give any name.
Now extract the downloaded zip file of WordPress and copy the content of the extracted folder and then paste them in C:\wamp\www\sample\.
Now find the PHP file named wp-config-sample in the same folder(C:\wamp\www\sample) and open it with notepad or any normal text editor.Find the portion shown below:
- In the line 1 shown in the above picture replace putyourdbnamehere with the database name(here sample).
- In the line 2 replace usernamehere with root.
- In line 3 delete the phrase yourpasswordhere and leave it blank.
After editing the file that should be like this.
After having done save the file and rename it as wp-config .
- Now type “http://localhost/sample/wp-admin/install.php” in your browser address bar and press enter.Fill-up the Blog Title and Your E-mail fields and click “Install WordPress”
- Now your WordPress will be installed.And the following message box will appear.
- Now note the user name and password then press login.After logging in you can change the the username and password easy to remember.

Comment is an important part of your blog and you need to moderate the comments regularly and reply them. As the bloggers are bit busy in their various task to maintain their blog then moderating each comment from the browser is little bit time consuming. WordPress comment client(for Windows)
WordPress comment client is easy to use and effective tool to manage the comments of your word press blog from desktop. After successful installation it allows you to read the comments of your blog one by one. It creates an archive of all the comments of your blog in your desktop.
You can get started with the application following the steps bellow
#1. Download comment client for WordPress.
#2. Install the comment client for WordPress (It is an executable file).
#3. Now you have to upload the folder named “commentserver” to your WordPress plug-in directory via FTP. The folder commentserver can be found from the path C:\Program Files\Comment Client for WordPress (If you did not change the default installation location at the time of installation) in your computer.
#4. When starting the application first time, it will ask for the address of your blog, user name and password.
Note :Check for if the XML-RPC protocol is Enabled from your blog settings.If not then enable it.
#5. Now it will start to monitor all the comments on your blog one by one.
Here you can approve, delete and reply the comments, made on your site directly from this desktop client.
You can also spam any comment or blacklist any IP address.
These tools sound a lot if you have multiple blogs and you get a large number of comments every day.
Using an Adobe Air application
Adobe Air is another application that lets you to moderate the comment from your desktop. The application runs in the background and allows you to approve, delete or mark a comment as spam. It notifies you of the pending comments from the system tray. But you can’t edit the content of the comment. The only down side of this application is that you can not edit the comment if someone has posted something wrong which you don’t want to publish.

You can Moderate WordPress comments from Windows Live writer
As Windows live writer is a popular blog editing tool it may be very productive if you use Windows live writer to manage your blog comments. you can approve, delete or mark spam from Windows live writer using a live writer plug-in. However you can’t edit the comment from Windows live writer.
How to make ready your Windows live writer to mange the comments of the WordPress blog
Download this plug-in and paste it in the Windows live writer plugins directory, located at C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Writer\
After the installation of the plug-in, open Live writer and click the comment management link from the sidebar. Put your password in the pop-up window. Type in your log in password of your WordPress blog. The comment panel will show the latest comments made in your blog.
WordPress Comment Moderation Notifier
Some time back How-to-geek has released a useful application WordPress comment moderation notifier. It alerts users when a comment is in the queue for moderation. It will alert you from the system tray in your computer whenever a new comment has been made and waiting for your approval.
Chose the application fit to your requirement
If you get a fewer comment then I’ll suggest you to use the Windows live writer plug-in.
